3rd annual MOSAIC art show

after spending many long hours glazing and firing, i'm finally able to relax. the 3rd annual "mosiac" art show took place on saturday night and was so much fun. it was a lot of work, but it was a great experience. i've officially found my favorite shapes, glazes and colors to use in the future, which has been one of the hardest parts of pottery. now if i can find the time to continue doing lots of it...
i think i've figured out what i'm going to be making tons of... mini bud vases that are magnetic for your fridge. they hold little flowers and add some beauty to that big ole metal box in your kitchen. i also made mini vases that can hang on your windows.i couldn't have done the show without my precious mom. she helped me pack, unload and display everything! she may have even sold some stuff. thanks mom.

this is one of my favorite mugs that i have ever made. i love the shape and the colors. i still have to test it and make sure its functional for drinking coffee, of course...

there were a lot of other artists in the show. my friend, kym, is a knitting machine. i got the coolest scarf from her... she even makes blankets. that's her husband, ron, and her daughters, torrie and maya. so cute. church obx puts on this art show each year at the local YMCA. there was coffee, desserts, and live music from the adorable esther molnar with brittany diggs and chelsea shields; and the talented justin rudolph also serenaded the crowd. we had a great turnout. it's the largest amount of people i've ever seen at an event like this on the outer banks. praise the Lord!

this is my friend, taylor. she's in high school and is an incredible painter with a heart of gold.
my friend heather (lady maye jewelry) rules the jewelry world. she is so creative and good at what she does. my mom pretty much bought everything... she makes the greatest stuff!

my fellow workmates, and boss, from OBBC came out to support me. awwwwwww, thanks guys. jenna is the high school art teacher and a close friend. she's an amazing painter too! her silk paintings are so awesome and unique. Sometimes she paints during our church services... it's so neat to watch; that's some serious pressure too when everyone is watching and you only have an hour to create a masterpiece!

the only thing missing from this year's art show was brent mcoy's phenomenal artwork, kim diggs, and the church obx band performing (including my handsome hubby, jesse)... it just wasn't the same. don't worry, another art show is sure take place in a few months, and hopefully these key things will be a part of it.
