big swell

about two weeks ago, the outer banks got a huge swell. besides canoeing, one of my other favorite things to do is watch jesse surf big waves. i love watching him getting amped on coffee at 5:45 in the morning, following him as he searches for the perfect spot, then running out into the water like a little boy. he is an amazing surfer too... very fun to watch. unfortunately i don't have a good enough camera to shoot surfing photos, so all i got were these scenic ones. the outer banks really is a special place. it's so beautiful and enchanting. if you've never been to the top of the cape hatteras lighthouse, you need to. if you want to see a video of one of jesse's good barrels from this swell go to www.surfline.com and look for the east coast caption.
