Okay, I'm not going to say any names, but last week nine of us youngsters went to Washington, DC to see a band play, and along the way we caught a glimpse of the White House... a certain individual in the car was shocked at the sight and said "wait a second, this is where the White House is?" Wow! It's the Outer Banks, it's known for it's beauty and waves, not it's school system. It turns out, this person has believed for their entire life that the White House was in Seattle, Washington. Sheesh...
Anyhow... Death Cab for Cutie was playing, so for Jesse and Kim's birthday we all piled into a suburban and drove five hours to go to a concert, sleep in a hostel, visit educational sites, and shop the lovely city of Washington, D.C. Despite the unfortunate drizzly weather and creepy people of the hostel, it was a trip to remember. We did make a new friend, Adam, from Manchester, England... you'll see him below with the young ladies. He was a nice guy and we quizzed him for hours on his thoughts and theories of the U.S.
Please take a moment and view the photos of the Vietnam War Memorial and statues of soldiers. Say a prayer for this country and be sure to thank a troop when you see one! Without them, you and I would not be FREE!
