the latest...

i know, i know. it's been an eternity since my last post. i can't help it that my camera conviently falls into the sound every time i go canoeing. after a few people hasseling me about updating, i finally decided it was time to use my cell phone as a photographic device. it's not the best quality, but it will do.

so much has happenned in the last few months. we had hurricanes, visitor after visitor, jesse got the cover of two major magazines (see below. and can't a wife brag sometimes?), jesse hurt his already-crippled hip, my dad came in town, it snowed yesterday, we've been working a ton, our church created an art gallery (see below)... so yeah, it's been busy. hope you're all doing great though!

seriously, it hasn't been nine months. that's not my baby... although she is on my "cutest babies" list. this is shelby, the precious daughter of courtney (culpepper) and simon chercka. courtney is now a resident of denmark, but graced us with her and shelby's presence recently here on the outer banks. how cute is that lil' thing? and no, i'm not pregnant, so don't ask.

here we have my dad, rodney. he came and visited for a few days and is more obsessed with sebastian (on the left) than i am. he loves that dog. i think he came to visit him and not me. that's totally fine! i too find sebi to be one of the greatest joys in my life.

church of the outer banks presents: the gallery. above is the post-remodeling and below is pre-gallery. it is so awesome. we love it. it' s going to be a place for art, coffee, Bible studies, fellowship, and music. so excited!

okay, below is me and jesse with scott aichner and greg lindquist. scott is our hero, and i shall tell you why. not only has he been very influential in jesse's surfing career, he recently took the two photos that were the covers for SURFER magazine and EASTERN SURF magazine. we are so thankful for him. his two weeks in our home really payed off. he's not only super-fun to hang out with, but he's an amazing photographer! see for yourself below. and greg is a great friend from my crazy high school days who came down from the big city of new york to go surf and play balderdash (the best boardgame ever). he is an incredible painter and dresses really cool (unlike me and jesse with our sweats). this is his friend's le baron he drove in. we loved that brown thing!

below is one last photo of my shredding husband. i am so proud of him. this is him at the mexican pipeline earlier this summer. i'm really glad i wasn't there to see him do that! he's nuts.
